Apollo Bay Accommodation: A selection of unique accommodation venues in Apollo Bay.
Apollo Bay Accommodation
Apollo Bay Accommodation can now lay claim to
some of the best and most varied accommodation along the entire Great
Ocean Road. And fortunately for you, quite a lot of it is right on
the beachfront - just metres from one of the safest swimming beaches
you will find. Apollo Bay used to be a sleepy little fishing village
tucked into the rolling green hills of the Otways. It's still a little
fishing village but it's not so sleepy anymore. At just 194 kilometres
from Melbourne visitors have decided that it's really not that much
further than Lorne and the pace is much more relaxed. If you can't
afford a real seachange then a stay in some Apollo Bay accommodation
is the next best thing. In the mid 1800's Apollo Bay was known as
one of the finest harbours along the Otways coast and nothing much
has changed today. Apollo Bay is widely known for its sumptuous crayfish
and this full time fishing fleet mingles with local anglers and cruising
yachts which drop in to shelter from the sometimes furious Southern
Ocean. If you like your seafood then the local fishing co-op will
delight. There are also of course a wide selection of cafes and restaurants
to choose from. And Apollo Bay has a full range of accommodation
facilities; from numerous backpackers, caravan parks and beachfront
motels to charming bed and breakfasts and magnificently extravagant
cottages and apartments. Whatever it is you are looking for you're
sure to find it here. Please make sure however, that during peak
seasons that you book well in advance as Apollo Bay is fast becoming
one of the most visited locations on the Great Ocean Road. As a result
of this there is an ever increasing amount of accommodation but it
always pays to book well in advance. Apollo Bay Accommodation: nothing
quite like it. |
