Beech Forest sits high atop the Otway Ranges and is the closest town to some of the best waterfalls in
The Otways
Beech Forest sits high atop the Otway Ranges and is home to legendary runner Cliff Young. Once a thriving logging town it is now more of a sleepy hollow – a great place to visit to experience the forests of the Otways. Beech Forest accommodation is limited so make sure you book early especially during peak times. The Otway Fly is just a few minutes drive away; this is the longest and highest rainforest skywalk in the world. A must see and now you can also do zip lining from tree to tree high above the forest floor below. A thrilling experience and if this is not enough for you why not try abseiling?
The forests surrounding Beech Forest are also home to some of the Otways most spectacular waterfalls. Hopetoun, Beauchamp and Triplet Falls are simply awesome. To get to these falls of course you will need to walk through some spectacular temperate rainforests and all of the walks now are easily accessible. You may be a bit thirsty after these walks so you’ll be happy to know that the Beech Forest Hotel is walking distance. If you feel the need to do some shopping Apollo Bay is not far away and the drive along Turtons Track to get there is one of the region’s highlights.
